Welcome to Longhorn Orientation

We're excited to see you at Longhorn Orientation! Orientation is required for all incoming students. At Longhorn Orientation, you'll get better acquainted with academic and campus resources, meet your fellow new students and register for classes. Learn more about the details of your specific orientation, including requirements and how to best prepare, by clicking on the appropriate section below based on your admit type.

Our mission is to lead students through their transition to the University community. We provide programs and resources that empower students to achieve academic and co-curricular success.

Family Orientation

While Family Orientation is optional, family members are strongly encouraged to attend. Attendees will go home feeling more connected to the University and equipped with conversation topics to better support their student through their transition to UT Austin.

Graduate School Orientation

Each fall, the Graduate School presents an orientation designed specifically for new graduate students.

Longhorn Welcome

Longhorn Welcome is UT’s official welcome for all new and returning Longhorns! As soon as students move to Austin, they can look forward to an exciting series of events hosted across campus.
