Accommodations for Students with Disabilities

The University of Texas at Austin is committed to ensuring students with a disability(ies) have equal access to all aspects of their campus experience. Students who have a disability, including medical and/or mental health conditions, and may need accommodations at orientation should follow the processes outlined below.

When you register for your orientation session, please indicate if you need any of the following accommodations:

  • Interpreting or captioning services
  • Housing Accommodations
  • Mobility Accommodations

After you register for your session, an email will be sent to you from New Student Services to confirm your specific accommodation needs. Additional instructions about any required forms and supporting documentation will be included. A response is required to process your request.

Any supporting documentation must be submitted at least two weeks before your orientation session. Requests made within 10 business days before your session may not be guaranteed.

Please note, accommodation requests made for orientation do not apply to the academic year. If you need accommodations during the academic year, you should contact Disability and Access. For information on how to register with D&A, visit https://community.utexas.edu/disability/
