Registration

You must have paid your enrollment deposit in order to register for orientation. Check MyStatus to verify if you have paid your deposit.

Registration closes 10 days before the start of each session. (For Spring and Summer School Orientation, registration closes six days prior to the session.) Register early as space is limited and sessions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Sessions do not have waitlists.

Note that if your family is attending Family Orientation, registration is a separate process. You and your family must BOTH register to attend an orientation session: students register via the New Student Services registration system, and parents register through Texas Parents. If families require hotel accommodations, they are encouraged to book your reservations as soon as possible. Texas Parents has provided a list of nearby hotels.

Registration Status

You can check your registration status at any time on the registration status page. Your registration status will also appear on MyStatus.

 

Switching Orientation Sessions

If you need to change your session, do so at least 10 days before the session you’re registered for by visiting the online registration page. You will only be able to switch to a session that has space remaining. When you log into the registration page, you will be able to see which sessions still have space available.

To switch sessions:

  • Visit your registration status page.
  • At the bottom of the page, click "Change Registration."
  • You will see your completed registration form. From the "Select Session" drop-down menu, select the session you wish to switch to. You will only be able to switch to a session with space available. Scroll to the bottom and click "Register."
  • You will receive a new confirmation email confirming your session date.

IMPORTANT: You should not attempt to coordinate with another student to switch orientation sessions, even if you are both in the same college. There are several factors that determine how many spaces are available in each session and who can fill those spaces. If you cancel your registration assuming you can switch to a different session, that switch may not be possible and you could end up losing your spot. 

 

Canceling Your Registration

If you need to cancel or change your registration, you must do so at least 10 days before the session you are registered for. (For Spring and Summer School Orientation, you must cancel six days before your session.) You may only switch to a session with space available. Visit your registration status page to cancel your registration.

Please note that if you cancel your orientation session a $25 non-refundable charge will be deducted from your refund amount. You will receive a refund check in the mail within two to four weeks of cancellation. If you do not cancel within the required time period, you will not receive a refund.

Registration for August Orientation cannot be canceled. If you register for a June/July session and fail to attend it, you will need to go back into the system and register for August Orientation. Your full payment for the June/July session will transfer to August Orientation but will not be refunded. Students attending Spring, Summer School or August Orientation are not housed on campus.

To cancel your session:

  • Visit your registration status page.
  • At the bottom of the page, click "Cancel Registration."
  • You will be asked if you're sure you want to cancel. Click "Cancel Registration" to confirm your cancellation.
  • You will receive an email confirming your cancellation.
